Hosting on Gojo Spot means welcoming travelers into your home. These rules help every guest arrive to what they expected and feel safe while they stay. They add to our Terms of Service and Community Standards.
Who can host
- You must verify your identity and be of legal age (18 or over) before you can publish a listing.
- You must own the place or have the legal right to rent it out (for example, your landlord's written permission).
Accurate listings
- Use real, recent photos of the actual place.
- Describe the space, rooms, beds, bathrooms, amenities, water and power situation, and the location honestly.
- Keep your calendar up to date, so guests never book dates you can't honour.
Clean and ready
- Clean the place before every stay: floors, bathroom, kitchen and fresh bed linen and towels.
- Make sure what you list (hot water, Wi-Fi, a generator, parking…) actually works, or tell guests before they arrive.
Safety
- Working locks on entry doors and safe electricity, gas and water heaters.
- A clear way out in case of fire; we recommend a fire extinguisher and a first-aid kit.
- Disclose any security cameras in the listing. Never place cameras in bedrooms or bathrooms.
Legal compliance
Follow Ethiopian law and local rules that apply to you as a host, including registration of guests where required, licences, and taxes on your hosting income.
Respond on time
Reply to guest messages and booking requests quickly, ideally within 24 hours, and keep your guest informed about check-in.
No discrimination
Welcome every guest who follows your house rules. You may not decline, cancel or treat a guest differently because of their ethnicity, region, religion, language, sex, disability or other personal characteristics. See our Anti-discrimination Policy.
No hidden fees
Show the full price up front. Don't ask for extra fees that aren't in your listing, and never ask guests to pay outside Gojo Spot once payments are available here.
If something goes wrong
Tell your guest right away and work with them to fix it. If you need to cancel, do it as early as possible. Our Cancellation Options will explain the rules once bookings open.
