Safety tips for hosts
Last updated
Get your home ready
- Working locks on outside doors and windows, and spare keys kept somewhere safe.
- Safe electricity, gas, water heaters and generators. Check them regularly.
- A fire extinguisher, a first-aid kit and a clear way out in an emergency.
- A short house guide: emergency numbers, how things work, Wi-Fi and the nearest hospital.
Know your guests
- Read the guest's profile and look for the "Identity verified" badge.
- Keep communication and payments on Gojo Spot (once payments open). Never share bank details or codes with someone claiming to be from Gojo Spot.
- Follow guest registration rules that apply to you.
During a stay
- Be reachable, and tell guests how to contact you or someone nearby.
- Respect your guests' privacy. Never enter without asking, except in an emergency, and never hide cameras.
If something goes wrong
- In an emergency in Ethiopia, call the police: 991, ambulance: 907, or fire: 939.
- Then report a concern.
